Hey there Coastal Bend! Hope you had a great Halloween! It’s the first weekend of November, the air is a bit cooler, the elections are over, now it’s time for some Fall family fun!

Thursday Night there is the Del Mar College Jazz Combo Fall Concert to attend,why not head over to enjoy some great jazz music?

It’s Friday, Are you in the mood for some delicious Greek food? Then maybe the 47th Annual Greek Festival is for you! You could also check out the  Peddler Show or the Friday Art Walk.

Saturday, the Farmer’s Market will be in-town. Head out to pick up some farm fresh fruits and veggies.

On Sunday, the the Padre Island Art Walk Festival will be taking place.

Hey everyone!  It’s the weekend before Halloween! Since we’re not quite to the candy-crazed part of the month, let’s talk about what’s happening this weekend!

On Thursday the 21st, two great country singers are performing. Gary Allen will be at Concrete Street and The Josh Abbott Band will be at Brewster Street.

There will be many opportunities to go out Friday the 22nd! You could visit the CCSC 5th Annual Hertage Park Ghost Tours, or you could go to Corpus Christi Live! The Great American Songbook at the Performing Arts Center on the TAMUCC Campus to experience an exciting collection of songs and dances. Maybe you’re in the mood for something a bit scary? There’s a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Aurora Arts Theater. Also at the Harbor Playhouse a performance of Evil Dead: The Musical. If that’s a bit too scary for you, but you want to listen to some great live music then you could just head over to the Executive Surf Club to hear the Rankin Twins-a country duo that blends pop, country, and southern rock.

If you’re ready for more on Saturday then here’s what to do! You could take part in the 2010 Corpus Christi Paddle Prix & Rally and kayak, paddle, or canoe up the Nueces River to Labonte Park. If you want to help out your community you could join in on the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. It’s a noncompetitive walk to raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer. Pledges are dedicated to life-saving American Cancer Society research, education, patient support, and advocacy programs to defeat the disease. That night there is an Ice Rays hockey game. Also, the Stone Temple Pilots at will perform at Concrete Street.

Sunday the 24th there is more to do! Another Ice Rays hockey game will be going on that evening and finally for those ready for Halloween- You could go see the Gruesome Twosome, otherwise known as Rob Zombie & Alice Cooper. They will be performing at Concrete Street on their The Halloween Hootenanny Tour.

Thursday there are several events! There is the Exhibits Opening Celebration at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, numerous artists will be revealing their art that evening. That night also, Jim Dugan, a country, folk, and southern rock performer will be at Tavern Bay. Also that night is a performance of “Back of the Throat” at the Warren Theater, located on the TAMUCC campus. Finally, Williams Riley, a country singer will also be performing at the Executive Surf Club and Rich O’Toole w/ Django Walker & Cody Johnson will be at the Brewster Street Ice House.

Friday, the 50th Annual Texas Jazz Fest will be at Heritage Park. The H2U Arts & Crafts Fair will be going on as well. Also The Student Foundation at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites you to its annual “Islander Revue” music and dance extravaganza, all Proceeds from sales fund student scholarships. You could catch a performance of The Rocky Horror Show at the Aurora Arts Theater! Or see Taylor Pie with Eben Wood Perform in Concert at the Corpus Christi Art Center.

Saturday, the 50th Annual Texas Jazz Fest will be continuing. KISS IT, A Kiss Tribute band will be performing at the Executive Surf Club. Finally on Saturday, Above My Enemy and more will be performing at Zero’s Hard Rock Club.

Sunday! The last day of the weekend! If you didn’t get a chance to enjoy any of these activities you’ve got more opportunities! The 50th Annual Jazz Fest will be going on and you could catch another showing of “Back of the Throat” at the Texas A&M Campus Warren Theater.

Hello again! There is some much to do in the Coastal Bend this weekend- so lets get straight to it!
Thursday the 16th, country star Martina McBride will be at American Bank Center, make sure to get your tickets before its too late. Friday the 17th, Le Freak will be rockin’ out at Brewster Street. Art lovers rejoice! La Mona Risa, a new art collection by Pepe Serna will be featured at De La Paloma. Meet the artist and be the first in Corpus Christi to own a Mona Risa Original or a signed print! Also this weekend, Saturday the 18th is full of excitement!
In the mood for some farm fresh fruits and veggies? Then you do not want to miss the Farmer’s Market. If its music you crave Cody Canada and Seth James will be at Brewster Street or you could head out to the Rock the Rail- Skate Park Fundraiser at the Brisco Pavillian. 10 bands. 12 hours. 1 stage. Enjoy live music or show off your shredding skills and sign up for the skating contest!  Also that night- Hal Holbrook’s one-man tour-de-fore, MARK TWAIN TONIGHT! will be at The American Bank Center, literature buffs this ones for you! Last but not least, get ready to run! or walk… Either way its all about promoting fitness for women of all ages! The You Go Girl 5k Run and 2 Mile Walk will take place at the Solomon Ortiz center and all proceeds will go to the Womens Shelter of South Texas.
Sunday the 19th there are a couple of great ways to end your weekend, Tin Can Phone will be playing at Dr. Rockits Blues Bar, Love Me Last will be at Revolution Bar and Grill, or if your feeling lucky why not head out to Poker Night at the Pelican Lounge. Hey there Coastal Benders! Looking for something to do this weekend? Thursday the 2nd of September offers a variety of opportunities for you and your friends and family to go out. There’s a Corpus Christi Hooks game that night, Ryan Beaver will be performing at the Executive Surf Club, and there will a chance to enjoy Open Jam Thursdays with Bushbullit (Southern and Classic Rock) at Rascals.

Friday the 3rd, The Spazmatics will be performing at Brewster Street and Scarlet will be at Executive Surf Club. Or you could view Elton John and Tim Rice’s production of Aida at the Harbor Playhouse, you should head out to see some of Corpus Christi’s great local talent!

Saturday the 4th- it’s all about the music. Cruise Control will be rockin’ at the Executive Surf Club. The Bay Jammin’ Concert Series will be at Cole Park and Blue October will be at Concrete Street; be sure to get your tickets before its too late! Also if you want to dance the night away DJ Curtis Rock will be at Bombay Lounge and Grill.

Finally Sunday the 5th, there will be karaoke at Crawdaddy’s, another Corpus Christi Hooks baseball game, and Scarecrow People will be at the Executive Surf Club. Any of these events would be a great way to end the weekend!

Hey! Summer’s coming to a close, but there are tons of musicians and events going on here in the Coastal Bend this weekend, and it is early enough in the week that you can start making plans and have an awesome, exciting weekend down here by the beach!

Thursday the 12th of August, Stoney La Rue with Sean McConnell will be playing at Brewster Street. David Martinez Band will be performing at Executive Surf Club and something exciting will be happening at Cole Park! From Executive Surf Club’s Battle of the Bands competition, the 1st and 2nd place winners will be performing for free at Cole Park to close out the summer concert series. Also that night House of Rock will be hosting a huge number of bands at their venue, the doors open at 4.

Friday the 13th, Scarecrow People will be playing at Brewster Street, Trysum will be performing at Executive Surf Club, and at Cole Park the final movie in their free summer cinema series will be Imagine That with Eddie Murphy. Finally Saturday the 14th, Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes will be playing at Brewster Street, Latin Talk will be at Executive Surf Club, and Ludacris will be at the American Bank Center.
